Just after releasing the sleek Huawei P9 and the P9 plus, the company brought in the P9 Lite – the third member of its P9series of handsets.

The P9 lite boasts the same design as its pricier sibling, but only the frame is metal this time round.

The phone offers a regular 13 MP rear snapper instead of the dual 12 MP rear camera of the P9. The 12.3MP Leica dual camera is gone, replaced by a more casual 13MP shooter which is quite good for taking photos supported by the single LED flash.

The front sports an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies.

The front camera with a beauty option is quite good for those who are dark and also for the people who love enhancing their photos so as to come up with that one great shot of themselves.

The phone comes with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a great resolution which proved that it has a great display while watching videos on it and also while playing games on my phone.

The P9 Lite is a dual SIM smartphone that accepts two Micro-SIM cards. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, 4G.

Running on Android 6.0, the device is powered by a Kirin 650 processor.

It also comes with 3GB of RAM hence here you are sure that there is minimal hanging even after opening multiple tabs on the device making the Ram worth it. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

At 147 grams, the phone is handy and easy to handle. The back is a little bit rough to allow for a firm grip. The P9 Lite has a fingerprint scanner on the back which can be used to take photos, that is selfies and also enhances the security of your mobile device.

The device is powered by a 3000mAh removable battery.

The battery is quite good as you do not have to recharge it again in between the day. Actually in the first trial, I ran all applications and the battery lasted for 15 hours, that is up to 3 percent charge.

This is a great simple device that combines a dynamic design with breathtaking style in perfect harmony, all at a competitive price.

The device costs between KSH 27,000 and KSH 28,000 in the stores.
